From the different eras what are some of the motors to stay away from and those that are great? I am in the market for a good used motor and the topic seems interesting for discussion anyways.
What horsepower and what type of boat are we talking about? It doesn't make much sense to get a a thread going that is wide open when you are interested in one specific HP range. For example, just because the 40/50 HP engines from Manufacturer "A" were excellent engines does not mean every other in that manufacturers line-up was as good.
Simple as white on bread (less ya like wheat).
Not a bad motor out there, but if ya pull up to a spiffy, well maintained house and shop, buy it.
