guys my merc 150 was shipped to me laying on its side on a pallet. that makes it impossible to remove the cowling to screw in flywheel puller so i can lift it. How can i lift outboard from side long enough to get cowl off. I have no way of getting help right now so its on me. Can i wrap a rope around flywheel to lift engine up a little. any ideas is appreciated. i have the clam shell cowl so i can get 1 side off. thanks

Re: outboard lifting position?

Loft the lower unit, put a piece of padded wood under the midsection, as high as you can and then sit on the lower unit. That should lift it a bit.
