hello I am trying to determine my correct model so I can buy replacement parts. The motor no longer has the manuf tag. I believe it is about a 1993? It’s on a 93 sunbird Corsair 170. Thank you!

1989 appears to be the last year for the 110 model.-----Many parts are common year to year.----What parts did you have in mind.?

Looking to order new spark plugs, plug wires, maybe other things soon? To keep it running tip top. If it needed a new water pump etc, I wanted to make sure I had the right model on hand.
Thanks!

Evaluate the condition of the motor before you rush out and buy parts.---A ' new to you " boat and motor ?----Yes you should install a new water pump.-----First do a compression test.

Boat is new to me, guy I bought it from showed me good compression. But it also likes to stall at idle/several tries to start. Im replacing the onboard tank, had a small hole and pits in it, probably water in the gas as a result. Wire plugs are also in rough shape.

But when iv searched some sites for parts, there are sooooo many model types?

I stated that most parts are common year to year.----What are the compression numbers today.----Stalling can be an indication of a motor in really poor shape !!

The problem is many of the sites I look at do not list a 110 motor for parts.

Stalling is also a sign of poor fuel/ignition, going to try the new tank and plugs etc first.

About 6 clicks puts me on more than one website that lists 110 HP models------Good luck with the project.----Or perhaps visit a dealer and talk to folks that know motors.

Through aspects of my motor iv narrowed it down, I just need to know if its coded as the "E" evinrude which they also call commercial? or J for Johnson on the 1989

The coloration indicates the model number would start with an "E". Look on the top portion of the powerhead for a quarter sized core plug... looks like a small freeze out plug. It may have the model and serial number on it.

My books show the rear & side portion of the hood but not the front. A side picture of the hood would probably pinpoint the year of that Evinrude.

The front view picture of the hood shown here... I assume the lighter color is light blue that appears white due to a flash? If so, the only hood with that design (light blue under dark blue) is the 1986 model... the 1989 model V4 hood is dark blue to the pan seal.

Find that quarter size core plug on the top of the power head and get the #'s off of it. Call BRP customer service with those #'s and maybe they can help you out.

Your last photos... rear view design and coloration plus dual power-packs = 1986 110hp Evinrude.

Hard to prove ownership without serial numbers. The disc isn't something that just falls out.

Pretty sure?.... I'm absolutely sure! The 1989 model has just one powerpack that sits on top of the powerhead just in back of the flywheel.

That little disc actually fell out on my 115 v4. I found it in the bottom of the cowl. Maybe that's where his ended up. Mine was down by the thermostats.
