I agree with the other posters on this thread about the old TNs being somewhat common. I also agree with the values they gave.
I did see a 1951 TN-27 for sale on e-Bay in early 2008 that had been used only 1 season (!). The reserve was $750. Naturally it took a while to sell, but it did sell in 2008. The thing had an original crate and was really nice. All original paint & decals, no dents, plus (and this is important) the non-replaceable bushings (crankshaft bearings) were not worn out with use.
You would be shocked if you knew how much my 1950 5-horse was to have restored. It is money I will never see again, but I am happy because I have a really nice TN and it runs beautifully. I had it restored for sentimental reasons, since dad bought it in about '52 and used it a lot in Algonquin Park with my late uncle.
