I would like an independent, unbiased opinion re the reliability of outboard motors -YAMAHA vs. SUZIKI - 200- 250 hp/400 stroke. I have just joined this forum. previous ownership is larger boats with inboards

Re: outboard motors

Howdy seeker.

Welcome to iboats. :)

Suzis and Yammys are both very reliable when routine maintenance is consistently performed. I know of no reliability issues with either.

Re: outboard motors

Suzuki for me. I have an 86 and 87 2 stroke and like the pink bunny does, they just keep on going and going and going. Have a friend with 200 on a Baja and he likes it. Suzuki started the oil injection thing you know.

Yamaha are great also. It's all in what you get lucky with and how you maintain it. I'm not too impressed with the 4 strokes yet.

Good luck with whatever you buy and hope it runs and last like the pink bunny.;)
