I have a 2002 - 25 HP merc 2 stroke. Does that motor produce enough noise to damage my hearing overtime ? It's a tiller model.

Yes. Anything over 80 decibels will damage your hearing over time, The louder the noise, the faster the damage. So, if you can't talk over it without yelling, then it is really too loud. But, that's the price we all pay for this wonderful sport we are involved in. I have a 140 inline 6 outboard and I am sure it's a lot louder than your 25 is.

Have a great day on the water.

Craig

Unless you have your head stuck to the outboard and you run it 10 hours a day every day, no, it's not going to effect your hearing...
