I have a 1960 Gale (made by Evenrude) 35hp outboard on my boat. It starts up great from cold and idles nice and smooth until I try to give it some throttle or put a load under the engine. After about 5 minutes of that, I can put it at wot and it will rev right up like it's supposed to and the boat takes off. However, it lasts about 30 seconds and the engine dies just like someone hit a kill switch. I can restart it about 30 minutes later but it will run for about 5 seconds and quit. once the engine is cooled off completely (like the next day) it fires up and does this all over again. The only thing I can think of is maybe the engine is overheating(possibly a bad impeller?) and a thermostat has a kill switch on it. Only problem is that I can't find a thermostat on the engine. Am I on the right track or does someone else have any sugestions? any help would be greatly appriciated. thx<br />Clark
