Outboard size????

Sorry if this question has been asked but I was wondering how you can tell the engine size on a Mercury I looked up my engine serial number to find out the year on storesonline...dot...com but my serial number could apply to a 50hp or 60hp and wondered how you can tell for sure.

You need to check the numbers on the carbs.... Post your engine serial number and someone should be able to give you the numbers for the carbs, then check then against what you have and, bingo... you'll have your engine's power.

No model number on the cowl, that usually indicates the horse power?(MERC 500=50HP)
