Has anyone had any experience with a bolt on stabilizer foil (ontop of the cavitation plate) for a 12ft aluminum boat?

I have an 16ft inflatible with a 40 yami, with a foil on it and it reduced the amount the bow came up on plane, and also reduced lowest possible planing speed.

I think it'l look funny, such a big fin on such a small motor...

What about trim tabs? Isn't that overdoing it?

I had a 14' aluminum skiff with an 18HP Evinrude and a Doel-Fin. Worked very well, jumped on step and planed at very low speeds. Did it look funny? The fish I hauled in never seemed to be laughing :D

They make smaller fins for smaller motors. Like the Doel-fin and a few others.
