I am attempting to replace the broken handle of my 14 HP evinrude outboard model no.VE14RCCS (not sure what year). I have disassembled it to the point where I need to separate the start/stop button and cables from the plastic throttle handle assembly and remove the throttle cable etc. from the old handle. I don't have to separate the cables and wires from the motor itself do I? I have already un-pinned and pulled the throttle handle grip loose and the little guide cams inside the handle fell out! But the kill switch wires are still attached and I can't figure out how to get them loose, maybe I've already screwed it up, but I'm stumped. Thanks for any help you can give.
