I have a 17ft mako with a 115 evinrude that the steering got stuck on one day and I forced the steering wheel to get it free.The steering wheel made a popping noise.the wheel turned but that is all.I freed up the steering at the motor which I should have done in the first place.Now when I steer there is a dead spot in the steering for about a half a turn and the it picks back up.What did I break???It still steers fine except for the dead spot but i should probably try to fix it.
