I have been wanting an outboard instead of an I/O. Has anyone ever installed an outboard bracket on their sterndrive boat? I am wondering how well they work and how they affect ride, speed, handling of the boat.
There are posts here from those who have tried it. Go to the search function and see what you can find. One thing to keep in mind is the weight distribution. The OB will be lighter but set farther back. From what I have read it works fine on some but not well on others depending on the design of the hull.
