So I recently got my latest boat running, not sure It's what I Need/want.
16'' AquaStar cruiser with a evinrude 135HP O/B Power trim.
I have learned that the bigger boats aren't neccesarly faster but cost more to run.
My old 14 surftamer with a 50hp johnson did about 55km/h and run for an hour on 5 gallons
This new one maybe 60km/h but guzzles 13 gallons an hour. Mind you this boat now has the trolling motor and 2 big batt. under the bow, it is a HEAVY boat.
The hole shot stinks, I haven't learned the sweet spot on trim yet....
So lets say I was to upgrade or tradeout this one.
Do I want a inboard? I realize boats are expensive to run but typicaly are they better on gas? What about using to pull buddys on knee and wakeboards. (hole shot)
Pros I see are, most likely straight gas, oil no premixing. leg doesn' stick down as much.
A friend said he prefers to work on outboards. But I tend to learn to adapt to the task at hand.
Let me know what you think.
This is my cruiser.
