Hi guys I'm new to Iboats and to working on outboards so bare with me here.
I recently got a 96 evinrude E115GLEDR and have been trying to get it back running. The engine sat for about 3 years and was running good when parked. So far I've installed a new battery, new ignition switch, new starter, new vro pump, new plugs, new lower unit oil. Did a carb cleaning and rebuild.
The first problem I noticed when trying to turn her over was she idled fine for about 10 min on muffs but I noticed gas leaking from the bottom carb "BB" whole. I read in a forum that I should just plug the whole so I did. Now the engine will fire up and only run for about 10 seconds and than will slowly die off. Secondly I don't think I have adjusted the floats correctly. I read some posts saying they should be level with the carb bowl gasket and others that say they need to be tilted slightly higher in the front. I'm not sure witch to go by I've tryed both positions and still have issues. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. As I'm knee deep into this project and am at a stand still:/.
