outdrive 270 prop question

Well I just tested my new old boat it is a Glastron 1975 18? swinger with a aq170a and a 270 outdrive ran grate but at around 2000 rpm it has a shake which I think is from a broke and bent tip on one of the propeller blades? I know it is a 14? clockwise turning (when going forward ) prop but have never had to order a new one. Do I need to order some ware online? Or should my local boat store have one . I will be using this boat for fishing so middle of the line prop would be good.

Once you get the prop off, If may be stamped with the size on the hub of the prop. You appear to have a "long hub" prop on there now.

Here's a link to Iboats props. they have some very reasonably priced props. But you need to correct pitch or the boat won't perform correctly.

ok i'll take it off and see if i can find the stamp on it. are these kind of prop's a standard or probably internet order only being a (long hub)?

Long hubs are common. I'd get one of the $100 props from Iboats once you determine what size you need.

I know iboats sells props but if at all possible get a VOLVO prop.The aftermarket will work but you will find better performance with OEM.
I was helpng a friend with his boat.Poor performance:I check everything timing ,comp,spark everything I could think of and NOTHING.I was stummped.
I gathered up my tools and was leaving and noticed a NEW!! prop.I asked when he changed it he said the day it started running bad.He had bought an aftermarket and it just wasn't what the boat needed.
It was a 21ft with a 131hp Volvo.Way too small but with the right prop it got right up on plane and ran 30mph.
You might not have this problem but Volvos work best on Volvos.
Take the prop off and hammer the edge till it's smooth use a file and take off the sharp edges put it back on and go for a ride and see if the vibration is still there.The prop doesn't look that bad.Hopefully the vibration will go away when you clean up the edges.
If not then there is something more costly in your future.J

I can tell you what I did with my short hub LH 275. I went with piranha prop. I will never run anything else. With the kit, around 200 bucks you get 2 props. Well the blades are replaceable. I have a 17,19 pitch combo. I can change in 2 minutes. If I totally destroy the blades I can swap them with new ones for around 40 dollars I think. Can't remember exactly. Just an idea. I know in long hub Volvo they offer 15 17 19 21x15 blades.
