outdrive damage

i managed to take a small chunk out of me outdrive when out 2day,will this cause me any problems?????? its rite at the bottom of the skeg

I did the same thing trying to staighten mine out.. consesus was If its not to big of a chunk and the rest is straight grind it smooth, and paint it back up, took me about half an hour.<br /><br /> Jim

it is slightly bent as well but only very very fractionally wasn't gonna bother straitghning it is it worth trying??????????

most of mine is missing and has been for years.<br /> its not something that is worth bothering about unless you desire the cosmetics at sale time.<br /> good luck and keep posting

I broke mine trying to staighten a slight bend... got it straight because I broke the bent piece off. If it doesn't affect you steering I would leave it alone ( just my opinion).<br /><br /> good luck<br /> Jim

been without for a couple of years, all it does is protect the prop. just remember that the prop is out in the wide open spaces and can hit rocks and things much easier........

It wont effect your navigation that much, just your prop is not 100 % protected for the next hit...<br />I'd recommend a skeg board, you can buy from any marine store around $ 80.00. It is a stainless steel piece goes on like a glove on the existing skeg, two bolts... You can put it on your slef. Protects the lower drive and the prop, looks good too.
