Outdrive Gear oil from Shift Shaft

Good Evening,

I just noticed gear oil dripping from the shift shaft . Does anyone know what I can do?

Replace the shift shaft seal and pressure test to be sure there are no leaks

What is the best way to change that seal?

But you have to hold in the shaft with a rod when you remove the seal as the shift crank will fall off if you pull the shaft out

Which would be BAD as then the lower would have to be taken apart
