Outdrive Gear Oil Vent Clogged

When i changed out my gear oil in my Volvo Penta Sx outdrive I hade the vent screw out and pumped oil into the bottom screw hole, it built up preassure but never came out the vent hole. My question is how to clear the obstruction in the outdrive between the vent hole and the drain hole?

There is a wee little passage between the upper and lower, pressure will build up. are you using the vent screw behind the rear plastic cover or just the cap ontop?

I believe I found the problem, and what I though was the drain plug was not. I actually had to remove a cover to get to the drain plug.

I have to assume you don't have an owners manual or a service manual do you? There is no cover over the drain plug. DRAIN plugs are found on the bottom of the drive.
