Outdrive Help...

Hey guys Im back... Im doing the Outdrive and doing basic maintenance to the outdrive pump assembly 1996 alpha one gen 2.

Gotta question . when i pulled the upper an lower apart .. I was super careful to not lose anything and keep track of all things,but

I have this O ring and its the size of a dollar coin. I have a few pics and I just cant figure out where it could possibly go. I have looked at the exploded view on the merc manual and nada. It is possible that some was in here before me.. It kinda just fell out when i seperated the upper and lower which is why im confused .
Please help I want to put the upper and lower back together today...But waiting for you guys advice.

That o-ring looks like its the one that fits the raw water cooling line in between the out drive and the housing. I've taken my drive off and found it stuck in place only to find it on the shop floor later. Check and see if it fits there.

i think iknow what your talking its the same size as the one in the pic because i have that one as well thanks though..
