outdrive id help

hey there, i called on an ad about a mercruiser outdrive for a 4 cyl. called the guy up and he told me the ser num is TO468928 and the model num is 984540. i cant figure out what year and model it is...can somebody help me on this?

Those are OMC numbers, not Mercruiser.

It's a 1987 OMC Cobra drive for a 2.3L Ford to be exact.
