Outdrive id help

Hey every one I have a 1989 19’ tempest with a 4.3l and alpha1 drive.

im replacing the engine and want to replace the water pump and gaskets in the outdrive

the problem I’m having is the spot where the serial number should be has been wore off

behind it is a number but I’m not sure if that the right number or not

is there any other place I can find this number ?

That's the transom assembly number, not the drive number.

Ayuh,..... All the Alpha 1 water pumps are the same, 'n I use the Gen.II gasket sets for boltin' All of the alpha series drives back on, MC-1, Alpha 1s, 'n the Gen.IIs,.....
