Hi there

can I keep the outdrive tilt up the entire wintertime? No problem for the joints and gimballs?

Thanks for your reply.

Enjoy, popey

Most people keep them down over the wintertime... Water will drain out better and the bellows won't get "set" in the up position.

It has been asked a couple of times so far in recent weeks, that link is the same question with over 50 replies in it. Why wait for everyone to repost on it.

Found using search ;), but I remember the question being asked. ;)

I keep mine down.

Keep it down!!!! Water can enter the area behind the prop and freeze.
The trim rams on some drives will be exposed. They are made of good stainless but can rust or get gunk on them and when you lower it in the spring you can wipe out the seals.DOWN can save you $$$ J

The bellows can get a memory from being up all the time, and the drive can hold water. I take mine off.

This thread is closed. No reason to repeat everything already in Eric's reply above.
