Have you checked the outdrive/engine alignment?

Re: outdrive knocking

possible the u-joint cups are hitting the nut? maybe the cups aren't pressed down all the way. shift cable needs adjusting? could the sound come from the lower unit and transfer up into the housing?

Re: outdrive knocking

first thought was u_joints,found no contact points on the nut.guess its possible for sound th telegraph up but not likely since it only sounds off in a right turn

Rawhide washers? Boy am I glad I have an OMC Stringer. It doesn't require any saddle tack to keep it operating. :p ;) :D

auctually boomyal, their not rawhide but a highly sofisticated, nasa approved co-polymer material that has been designed to handle the rigors and stress of the marine envorinment.they just look ,smell, and taste like rawhide...and just think of all the cattle brunswick are sparing....
