Hello everyone. In an earlier post I asked about a replacement upper half for my Alpha one outdrive for a 3.0. I've seen this posted before, but I need to ask to make sure. So when my upper end rounded the gears, I'm sure garbage got into the lower half as well. Now my lower end has never given me any issues, so originally I wasn't going to tear it apart. Now after reading about garbage being in the lower end after the upper went bad, I'm not sure how to handle it. Is there ANYWAY to clean out the lower end of any filings or whatever, without having to tear it all apart? I know how much of a headache I can be in for trying to get it apart. So realistically, yeah I know it needs to come apart and cleaned out. However, if anyone thinks it can be flushed out without tear down, it would be great to know.

Thanks in advance.

Nope,.....

+1....

Needs to be fully stripped and everything needs to be cleaned (and inspected), thoroughly.
Only needs one tiny bit of gear tooth chip to get caught in a bearing for the whole thing to destroy itself.
