1996 Volvo Penta 5.0 with Duo Drive
When drive is in neutral and tilted up about 1/2 way the drive will begin to shake back and forth violenty at times. The steering wheel will turn almost a 1/2 turn in both directions--that is how much it shakes.
The drive work great otherwise and does not do this when in gear. The drive and engine were rebuilt this year but the problem is still there.
Is there something in the steering that can cause this to happen? There are hydralic pistons on the outdrive which I thik are part of the power steering system--can they be weak or worn out and not holding drive in position properly when boat is not in gear?
