I was wondering if someone could tell me if it might be normal for one ram to run faster than the other. I have the outdrive off and was working on the hydraulic trim system. When I got it working I noticed that one ram ran faster than the other. Is this a problem and if so any ideas on what may be wrong and how to fix it. I did notice that when tha quicker ram reached it's inner or outer limit the slower ram would speed up.

It's a classic case of "path of least resistance".

You have 1 pump pushing fluid through a Y connection to 2 cylinders. If you held the faster one back with your hand, the other one would speed up.

When they're both fastened to the outdrive it evens out.
