Outdrive Water Leak

I have a 94 OMC 454 and outdrive. Since pulling the boat from winter storage, I have a small trickle of water seeping in where the outdrive enters the transom. I can see the water from the engion compartment and it looks like its coming in through the middle of the outdrive. I am told this may be the result of storing the boat with the drive up (bellows failing as a result). Any thoughts? Also, I have used the boat a couple times anyway to take advantage of the good weather. Should I hold off on future outings until getting this corrected? THANKS!

Re: Outdrive Water Leak

If the bellows are leaking then hold off.
When its out of the water loosen the big hoseclamp and gently crack the bellows open.If any water runs out then give it a rebuild-not the whole thing ,just the bellows seals universals etc
Keep running and it gets real expensive!
