i am taking off my omc cobra outdrive to replace it with a mercruiser outdrive and was wondering if a outdrive from a 3.0 will fit a 4.3 l or does it need to be compatiable or come off a 4.3 l

Ayuh,... The Gear Ratios are Different,... Not Good...

how do i know what gear ratio i have so i can get a outdrive

Are you buying the SEI conversion? If not hopefully you know that a Merc drive will not work on a OMC transom shield...Everything from the engine back will need to be swapped with Mercruiser parts.
