outdrive

I have a 98 Bayliner\3.0 Mercruiser with an Alpha 1 outdrive. I accidentally ran thru a thick silt today at idle speed, as the lake here is a lot lower than normal. The whole episode lasted probably 10 seconds or less. I don't feel any difference in steering or planing, but on inspection after I pulled the boat out of the water, I notice a few small nicks on the prop, nothing major. Does anyone think this is enough to worry about and also should I flush or service the outdrive. Thanks for any input.

Re: outdrive

Sure wouldnt hurt to pull the drive off & inspect or replace the water pump in the leg, not a big job and could save you some grief down the road, sand and rubber just dont mix well.
