I have a 1976 Glastron T-179 with a Volvo Penta AQ130C with a 270 outdrive. Does this Particular setup have a Impeller or is it controlled through the Raw water pump on front of engine, the problem is when the engines runs on load the temp gauge goes over 200 degrees. But when engine runs in neutral it stays around 140 to 150 degrees. I been scratching my head on this over heating problem any info would be thankful.

Download the appropriate manuals from the adults-only section. Been too many yrs since I had an AQ130/270 setup. If you have a belt-driven pump in addition to the standard auto-type water pump, your impeller would be in that pump.
Sounds like you're not getting enough water flow due to failed impeller or water passage blockage.

Replace impeller at front of eng.

Check for vac leaks from drive to pump, water neck at top of drive is famous for rotting away. The strainer is another, the bottom part is steel covered with rubber, once the steel starts rusting it kills the seal.

Re: over heating problem

Well the problem was the intermediate housing has a crack in it where the water travels up to the s hose and to strainer and water pump. Called the local boat yard where we purchased the boat told him what I found and he is going to replace the outdrive with another one so many thanks for the replies
