Over Heating

I have an 18 horse Johnson (Model # FD-11) outboard that I'm not sure if it's cooling properly. I'm not sure where the water is suppose to come out the back motor when it's running. Unlike newer motors that have the tube coming right out of the motor, this one has nothing. If some one could tell me what to look for that would be great. I dont want to over heat it. Also if somebody knows the year on this motor, please tell me.
Thanks

Re: Over Heating

Welcome to iboats. about 1/2 up the backside of the leg is an outlet, exhaust relief ports, you should get atleast droplets or mist out of there. that is your tale tell. if not, need impeller.
