When you go on full plane the overheat alarm goes off with the temperature gauge reflecting normal operating temperature. My suggestion was that the intake was cavitating based on how high the boat comes up out of the water. I suggested to have someone look back at the motor while on plane to confirm pee hole water and see what the lower unit looks like in the water. He just bought the boat and the previous owner took him out in it before the deal and explained to him that it has done it since day one of his ownership and about 25 outings. Any suggestions or am I on track with my theory.
