overheat johnson

hi
I want test my guage,so i see two resistor on cilinder head on my johnson 130,2000 year,when must alarm lampe light -when i put that wire on ground or??
second i see on tacho swich with number 5 and 6(pulse)-where must be on my engine?

Your tach should be on the 6 pulse setting.

Your overheat alarm will go off when you ground the wire from the sensor on the head.
