I know I read that the water coming out of the pee holes should be warm like a bath tub. I can hold my hand in the stream but it seems a little warmer than luke warm. Is there another way to tell if the engine is over heating. (other than the buzzer as I think it's broken).

Re: Overheating 125?

A few things that you will find on this forum time and again, but can't be said too much. Don't mess around with overheating. Replace the impeller if you have any doubt, and probably replace the buzzer too, though I wonder why you think it's broken... I haven't heard of anybody talking actual temperature #'s on the water exiting your motor, but it makes sense. Maybe somebody can enlighten us.

While you're in there with the impeller, replace the lower unit seals. It's the regular maintainence that makes a happy boat owner, and the neglected motor that drives us all crazy.

Re: Overheating 125?

The temp of my 125 is about 180 degrees. The easist way to take the guessing out of "is it running to hot" is to add a temp gauge.
