I have a 93 johnson 225 when i run it at 5100-5200 the temp. gauge reads about 180. I dont get any warning buzzer sound and the engine does not go into save mode. I recently adjusted the timming to 17 deg. and thats when it started happening. As soon as I let of the throttle it cools back down to 120 deg. Any suggestions. Thanks

Why did you adjust the timing. your engine is firing prematurely causing it to work way to hard, but you probably won't have to worry about that much longer if you keep it there

The manual said it had to be 16-18 deg. And it was like at 10-11 deg
