I bought this engine (with boat) knowing it had an overheating problem. I figured if I couldn't get it running I would use it as a parts motor.
I was hoping to just put a new water pump on it with a tune up and some new fluid.
When lifting up on the flywheel I noticed play.
The play measures 1/16 of an inch. It sounds like much more. CLUNK!
Is this excessive? could it be main bearings?
I just got it home yesterday and have yet to start it. the previous owner tried briefly just before I came to pick it up.
Any Ideas or suggestions?
