I just recently bought a 93 proline 192 sportsman. The guy i bought it from tried to sell it with no test drives. That wasnt happening. I showed up, and showed him the cash and told him if i test drove it and everything was ok he could have it. The boat is immaculate. It test drove like it was new. However
I would like to change the water pump. Because in my past experience its just good form. I changed the impellers on every outboard i ever had right off the bat no matter how new it was. A few questions though. this is a 4.3 Yamaha stern drive 205 hp.
1. rumor has it there are 2 water pumps?
2. are there impellers inside both pumps?
3. how hard are they to change if impellers?
over heat light has begun to come on after 2 mins in water(am wondering if this is why old man said no test drives and if maybe when i test drove it he just got lucky). ALL replies will be appreciated(especially if helpful:D)
thanks guys.
