G'day
My Johnson 1977 75hp (75ELR77S) is loosing so much power. It will not go more than 8 knots, at a push. Due to my temp sensor gauge being full whack on 220 degrees C every time i turn over the engine.
Here's what I've done so far:
I have just gone and replaced my water pump impeller, checked for blockages, ensured water is making its way up to the powerheads.
Water is making it all the way to the powerheads and I have checked the thermostat which is opening and closing in different temperatures, which seems to be working also.
Why is she so hot? To touch the port side of the engine and powerheads, they're red hot.
If the engine is hot, will she be limited on what power she can produce, it seems that everytime i take my boat out some more horses perish from the engine.
