my 4.3 omc cobra overheated. i discovered that the impeller in the outdrive melted. i replaced it assuming that i either had a build up of seaweed or sucked in a bag. the overheating went away but i noticed by looking through the clear flush valve that comes off the outdrive pick up hose going to the thermostat that when the outdrive is stored in the up position it looses it's prime and it takes awhile for the water to start flowing through the hoses. any idea's ? thank you

Re: overheating

You could have some impeller parts stuck in the hose causing a partial restriction or maybe the bag/seaweed is causing a partial blockage.
