Owner Feedback on Lund Impact?

I am considering the purchase of a 2012 Lund Impact 1875 and would appreciate some feed back from current Impact owners. The boat would be used primarily for fishing (muskie, walleye and bass), but also for family recreation (tubing and wakeboarding). I will be limited to a 115 HP motor due to HP restrictions at our local lake. I'm not a troller, so not planning a kicker.

Satisfied with your Impact? Dissatisfied? Would you buy it again, or look at another brand or model?
Concerns I should consider before pulling the trigger?
How is your Impact set up, and what changes would you make if having to do it over?

Thanks!

Re: Owner Feedback on Lund Impact?

I'm not familiar with the Impact (looking at pics), but if you will be MOSTLY fishing the open floor plan of the Alaskan is excellent. I troll, cast, drift, and anchor in mine with no isuues. For trolling that rear casting deck is in the way IMO. Also the same hp limit so you might get a little cheaper (boat) with the Alaskan.

Re: Owner Feedback on Lund Impact?

I have a new 1675 Impact, 75 Merc, Terrova up front. Its a good stable fishing boat, befor I had a Jetcraft which was long on trolling space but short up front. I troll and fly fish equally so the divided room front to back works for me. The Lund is great for rod and general storage space with two live wells. What I am disappointed with is the Sportrak mounting system. Downrigger mounting was a pain and my local dealer made some nice brackets, and thier plastic adjustable mounts are junk.
I find it strange that a company whos bread and butter are fishing boats do not reccomend mounting downriggers on a boat built for big water. Factory said sides of the boat were not built for downriggers??????????????. That said I find the boat most fishable and wall appointed.
good luck and keep us posted

I have had a 1675 impact for a year now. It works great in rough weather and is a good fishing boat. I have a honda 90 with a terrova trolling motor up front. That being said take a good look at the windshield before you take your boat. Mine had never lined up properly and was adjusted once. Also replaced sending unit for gas guage and is still way out. Believe they need some better quality control at factory. Overall is a good boat. Trollerguy how well does you gas guage work, mine is out by close to a half a tank.

Re: Owner Feedback on Lund Impact?

I have a 2011 1875 Impact with a Merc 150 V-rod with a good deal of options. This is the my fourth boat I have owned, two were strickly fishing boats and the the other was a 16 ft fish n ski with a 115 Johnson. So far the boat has been excellent for fishing and water sports (pulling skiers and tubers) I don't use down riggers so I can't help you there but this boat has good fit and finish and everything works great. Its a pretty light boat for its size so I don't think you will have a problem with the 115 hp. If you will have alot of people on the boat when pulling skiers you'll probably want a 2 stroke 115. They are a little more snappier off the line for pulling someone up. If not the four stroke is really nice. I fish Erie and Mosquito lake mostly and I feel comfortable on both the big and small lake. I'm 6'3 270 lbs and my fishing buddy is 6' 240 lbs. and the boat is nice and stable. If I had to do this all over again I would in a heartbeat.
