I recently purchased a 1983 Commodore 277Xl from a private owner. They were not able to provide an owners manual. I have contacted Regal and they do not have copies from that late date. Does anyone have a manual or have a friend that has an owners manual for that model boat or sometime near 1983?

Thanks for your help!

Tommy

You'll likely find the manual rather useless if you can get one. Whatcha need to know?

Re: Owners Manual

I am a new boat owner. I have little experience with this type of boat other then enjoying other peoples boats. I want to know more about the electrical system and the batteries and engine layout.

I also need to know more about what is under the decks, the bilges and water lines. I want to know more about connecting the boat to a dock with water lines and electical. Also about the control panel.

I am sure these are simple things for experienced users.

I have a copy of a user manual for a Regal 1986 265. I am not sure how similar that boat is to my Commodore 277 XL. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Didja try www.regalownersclub.com yet? There might be someone there than can help. Failing that, the electrical system in your boat is built to standards of the day. Regal did not do anything odd with the wiring so perhaps a generic book on boat wiring systems would prove adequate for your electrical needs. Same goes for plumbing, come to think of it.

I'd think the manual you have would help a lot.

If you have a Mercruiser power package, downloadable manuals are available here: http://www.boatfix.com/merc/mainmenu.pdf

Re: Owners Manual

Thanks for the advice. I have been reviewing another manual from a similar boat and that seems to be helpful.

Re: Owners Manual

Pannas,

I have the manual for a Regal 1988 Commodore 277XL, if you think that will help you let me know, I can photocopy it. It is about 1.5" thick so it could take me awhile. (I would have to do a little at a time a work). I do not mind doing if you need it. There are some differences, but it should be close enough. By boat is a 1987 and there are differences between mine and the book, and the book was orginal to my boat, go figure.

Also if you have any question, just ask, I may be able to answer.
