You can get a manual here at iboats or on Ebay, the parts book, if you think you need one, can be had on Ebay also, don't know about an operators manual though.

Stay away from Clymers, Seloc or anything on CD, they cover way to many models and none in any detail, the factory manual covers your engine only, they are priceless.

Ebay is about the only good source I have found for operating manuals. You might have to wait awhile to find one....but eventually one will probably show up. If you use Ebay, you probably already know you can save your search and they will email you when one goes up for auction/sale.

Johnson didn't make a 50hp in '68. And that model number is closer to a 80hp. Are you sure on your details?

That model number is for a 50hp, but a 1958, not 68
