I have twin 2000 OX66 250hp Yamaha. When I change the primary filter on the starboard engine and pump up the ball, it does not get firm. Port engines seems to work OK. It will continue to pump fuel into the cylinders if I do not stop. Last time I had to remove the plugs to blow the fuel out.

Hmmm....you have to be pumping fuel through the pump in VST tank to get it into cylinders....and to get to pump would have to get past needle(just like a carb, with a float & needle in tank)....I would get a new needle for VST....

I replaced the needle valve, (after making a new pin for the float. old one in the water) but that did not cure the problem. Found a craked disphram in one of the fuel pumps. Replaced all three pumps and problem was cured.
