This is just my second season with my first boat(92 seaswirl) and I finally got the rest of the hard water removed from it. I've applied Meguiars premium marine wax to about half of it but still noticed a little oxidation in spots. I picked up some Meguiars marine oxidation remover from a local autobody paint store and asked the sales person if it could be applied over the portion I already waxed or if the wax somehow needed to be removed first. They said as long as it was clean I could just go over it and then reapply the wax. Does anybody know otherwise, the sales person was hesitant at best with their reply. Thanks.

Re: Oxidation remover

Remove the oxidation with the polish, either by hand or a variable speed polishing wheel with wool pads. Then reapply the wax. The polishing will take care of any wax you currently have on there.

You may find that once you remove the couple areas of oxidation that your boat is shinney in those places. If tht is the case, spend a day and polish the entire boat. The wax it a couple times.
