Does anyone have the part number for the old-style prop nut on the MC-1 drives? I finally got around to putting on the used lower unit I stole off of a parts boat, and the thread pitch is different from the usual MC-1/Alpha/Bravo drives (3/4-16 i think). The thread is much coarser, but I can't find a part number or source for the nut itself, even after trying my local boat store. I believe the thread is supposed to be 3/4-10 from what I've read. I can reuse the old prop nut, but I'd just rather put a new one on from the get-go.

The thread size would be 3/4-10 as you mentioned. Found them in McMaster Carr online.

Just need to figure out heigth and width of the nut your looking for. I selected 3/4-10, then nylock and it gave me what was available

Re: P/N for Prop Nut

I appreciate it, Bt. I scoured the internet looking for a p/n for my local marine shop to look up, but could only find websites with their own internal numbers. Since I didn't have a year/serial # to use since it is older than my original lower unit, I wasn't sure what drive would have been using this driveshaft. The engine in the donor boat was a 351w like mine (1976 Webbcraft), but I'm not positive that it's the original outdrive, so I don't even know the ratio of the spare upper I now have, lol.
