I have been doing some repairs to my 1999 Fisher deck boat and I can't find the right color paint to match it. Does anyone have any idea where I could find a paint code? I know Fisher is out of business now but maybe some other brand uses the same colors. Thanks in advance.

It's an aluminum boat, I'm looking for a paint code. It's sort of light tan with a grayish tone.

Not sure if any boat MFG. ever listed paint codes. Just take it to any auto paint store and they should be able to come real close in matching it.

You are going to have a tough time finding a code, I have never seen a boat company issued an options list for boat colors other than to say it is white, blue, gold, cream, etc. Tow the boat to the local PPG shop and they can measure the intensity of the hues in the paint and come up with something that will be very close..

When I used to work on older fiberglass motorhomes and metal sided travel trailers they were able to do it well enough, they could even match faded colors so it was difficult to see the repair or replacement part.

Thanks guys. I already had the paint store shoot it with their "Prophet" but the color they mixed for me was too tan.

I'm redoing a 2003 Fisher now. I ended up painting it white.

However, on a past project, I took a paint chip to an ACE Hardware store and they NAILED the color- first try- in Rust Oleum.

Any good auto body supplier has a camera and they can take a picture of the paint and get you the paint made there

If you wanna blend it in best, as the color you get will likely be just a bit off, be sure to wet sand the area after painting then hit all around it with buffing compound and buff it up, it'll blend it in so much better and make it looks just about good as new.

Prophet is the name of the PPG color camera
Ppg is at the back of the pack when it comes to color matching (i used to be a huge ppg fan)
I highly recommend you get a camera shot from someone who carries BASF RM-diamont or you could possibly get away with there low end Limco line
I've been doing auto body /painting for almost 30yrs and I think you will have good luck with the RM
