Paint it or leave it raw aluminum

should i leave my 15 foot jon boat raw aluminum or should i paint it.. Was going to do a red and gray paint job.. Gray on the bottom and water line red up top.. Rust olem up top, GatorGlide on the bottom and waterline.

Travis, it's recommended that once you start a thread here on the forum about your boat, that you keep all the rest of your questions about the boat in the same thread. Makes it a lot easier for the members to follow along with the progress of your project. To answer this question, it's your boat and your choice. It won't make any difference one way or the other. It's a matter of personal preference. If you like the look of a Paint Job then paint it. If not then leave it Au' Natural. The last link in my signature below has some good info on painting with Rustoleum if you choose to paint it.

I'd leave it raw and spend the time and money on something else for the boat.

If you paint it you're going to fret about dinging it, and it will get dinged.

If you do paint it, make sure you prepare it properly, and use a zinc-chromate primer.
