paint lower unit

Hello, I have a question, painted my lower unit on my motor with regular paint, is it ok to top coat the regular paint w/ antifouling on the lower part of the engine. the anitfouling paint is being applied over the regular paint that was just painted. any thoughts? thanks

I don't think it will cause any problems, but why did you paint it with regular paint first if you were just gonna put bottom paint on it and also why does your lower unit need bottom(anti-fouling) paint, do you leave it in the water all the time?

Hey thanks for the reply i painted because it stays in the water, i know you can buy antifouling paint for lower unit but its very expensive! have my daughter living with me now, so trying save money!
