Interlux makes a good product for removing paint 299E it is a paste so it doen't dry out so quickly. Then it depaends on what part of the boat your trying to paint? Interlux makes a paint called brightside which is a single part paint that is self leveling. (make sure you read the directions). this paint will give you a gelcoat look finish or better. I have painted a couple of boats with this product and it looks real good.<br /><br />Good luck
