I just purchased 1966 3HP weedless and foldable Envinrude and I am in the process of re-building the carb, ignition system, and replacing the water pump. The person I bought it from said it has not been run in over 35 years and stored in their basement the whole time. This motor maybe saw the water 3 or 4 times in it's life and is in near mint condition.

However, there are a couple small areas where the paint has been scratched off under the decals.

I was wondering if anybody has had any luck trying to "re-touch" these motors up? Can Evinrude touch up paint still be purchased or does someone have any thoughts or suggestions? I suppose I could go to an auto body shop but they may be too expensive.

Try this company

http://www.towerpaint.com/

If you send them a painted part off of the motor, they will match the paint and return the part with your order. They will also put the paint in a standard spray paint can for you, in quantities as low as one can.
